I remember when my kids were little, they loved to play the game, hide-and-seek. It’s actually kind of funny. They loved playing hide-and-seek but, in all honesty, they were terrible at that game. Really bad, actually. The funniest part of playing this game with my kids was my son’s hiding spot. Every time we played I would find him hiding in the same exact location: behind the curtain in our living room. No kidding. Every.Single.Time. Though he got points for hiding behind something, the problem with his choice? He was hiding behind a lace, completely see-through curtain.

“Daddy, how’d you know?” he’d say. And then? I would count to ten and he’d go right back behind that curtain.

Let me ask you a question. Do you ever feel like you’re playing hide-and-seek with God? Or, maybe a better way to phrase that question is: do you ever feel like God is playing hide-and-seek with you? There’s no question that we’re living in a noisy culture where it’s easy to feel like God is distant, that we’re lost in the crowd, and our value and worth can easily be found within the

shallowness of the number of likes we get on Facebook or the Instagram followers we currently have. Here’s the thing: If we’re not careful, little by little we can slowly fade into the belief that we’re unseen, lost and not known. Yet, the psalmist King David says

something entirely different.

David writes, “You have looked deep into my heart, Lord, and you know everything about me.” (Psalm 139:1)

Think about that. We are seen by our Creator.

Inspired by a book written by author Sara Hagerty, join us for a new series beginning this Sunday in the Harvest. In this new series, let’s dig into the unseen places we may find ourselves and learn that – even in the unseen – we are seen by our Heavenly Father and we are loved.

You’re going to love it.
