You know what I love about a good thirty minute sitcom? It’s got a good beginning, a great middle, and an ending. That’s it. Here’s the “situation,” here’s how we deal with the “situation,” and here’s how the said “situation” ends. If only those difficulties and challenges we face could play out so quickly within thirty minutes, right?
But wait. Slow down. God moves at a very different pace.
The challenge is to stand in the midst of the waiting and trust that God is, indeed, still writing, still working, and still speaking through the greater story He is writing through the way we live our lives.
I love Isaiah’s words here: “The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” (Isaiah 58:11)
So may you, my friend, in whatever season you stand, hold on to the peace and comfort of knowing that, in the midst of the waiting, God is still writing your story.
