Life, More Abundantly

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 (NKJV)

There’s something you need to know. Ready? You were not created to settle for complacency. You were not put on this earth to simply just exist. You were created to live and live abundantly.

I love what Jesus says to the Pharisees in John’s gospel, chapter 10. He reminds them that the enemy has come to distract, to rob us of life. But Jesus flips the coin and shares that He has come so that they may have life and have it more abundantly. It’s easy to read this and pass over it without giving much thought. But take a moment to let the Holy Spirit speak to you through the context of this passage. Jesus is telling the Pharisees to not let the enemy distract. Instead, He is saying that through Him true life is given and it is a life filled with abundance.

Let me ask. How is the enemy robbing you of the abundant living that is given to you through Jesus Christ today? In what areas of your life do you need to reclaim and start living with abundance again? How has the enemy stolen your dreams, killed your passion and destroyed your hopes. It’s time to start living again. Reclaim the abundant life that Christ has offered.

Let me pray for you.

Gracious and loving God. I want to lift those that may be reading this now and find themselves empty and in need of joy and the promise of abundant living that comes through the relationship that is offered through Jesus Christ. God, we recognize that the enemy desires to separate us from this promise of hope and abundant living. I pray for healing and restoration in those that are seeking it. For those who have empty cups, I pray that they may be filled and in the overflowing that others may come to know you through the love which you freely give to each of us. It’s in the name of Jesus that I lift this prayer. Amen.
