What an emotional week. Much going on in the life of the Sorensen family. Not a bad week by any means, but an emotional one, none the less.
Tomorrow, I get the opportunity to open up the Word with my church community and look at the following familiar passage:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
As I have moved through the dynamics of the week, I have spent some time chewing on this familiar Psalm of David and what God has revealed has been a tremendous blessing. Often I believe that familiarity can be a dangerous thing. SO, over the next week, I would love to offer some insight as to what God has revealed in my searching the scriptures to hear His voice.
I can’t wait to preach on this text tomorrow morning.
