Grace and peace, friends. I pray this message finds you all well.
I recently connected with a friend who I graduated high school with and as I greeted him, I asked how he was doing. His response grabbed my attention. He smiled and said, “Sipping from the saucer because my cup overflows.” I loved that. He had worked in the corporate business world and, God had begun to do a work on his heart. He has since made a change, and he and his family are now in full-time ministry.
As my friend shared his story with me, he added that – for him – church had just consisted of one hour a week and, honestly, that’s the amount of time that he gave God to speak into his life. Then he added,
“but I am learning that God has so much more to offer on the other side of that one hour we give Him in the week. As I have learned to dig into His Word and go deeper in prayer, I have found that my cup is overflowing every single day, and I’m learning to live (and love) out of that overflow.”
That, my friends, is where we’re going in our new series beginning this Sunday in Harvest, The Other 167 Hours.
Sunday, I am going to be preaching from Romans 15:13 where the Apostle Paul says, “May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Listen, I can’t wait to share God’s Word with you all on Sunday. Please join us for worship. It’s going to be an amazing Sunday of Word, worship, and Holy Communion.
I’ll see you then!
